Nissan has just released a teaser image of their new Sway concept vehicle which will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Nissan says that the new concept will show the future of their small hatchbacks if they were to apply the same thinking and standards that they’ve applied to the Qashqai and Juke in recent years.
We’re guessing that this new concept vehicle is a glimpse as to what the next generation of Micra will look like.
In other Nissan news, and we’re not sure if this will be going to Geneva, the manufacturer has applied glow in the dark paint to one of their Leaf cars. The video below shows the electric vehicle painted in a specially-made organic paint which absorbs UV energy during the day and can glow for between 8 and 10 hours at night.
Nissan is using this video to highlight that many Leaf drivers are using the money they save from electric vehicle technology to install solar panels to their homes. Nissan reckons that these people could now be effectively charging their Leaf vehicles for free.
Either way we like the video. The difference between this glow-in-the-dark paint and others used on vehicles before is that it’s made from a “very rare natural earth product called Strontium Aluminate, which is solid, odourless and chemically and biologically inert”. This paint is called STARPATH and was invented by Hamish Scott.
