The Taoiseach Enda Kenny has slapped Newstalk presenter Ivan Yates - figuratively speaking, of course.

In the Irish Independent today, Mr Kenny hit back at his former Cabinet colleague - describing him as a mercenary.

It follows on from Ivan's column in the paper yesterday, in which he said Fine Gael needed a new leader.

And Newstalk Breakfast also found an unlikely fan in Russia.

The show got an email from Julia from Spirovo, saying: "When I wake up I listen to your radio, it gives me energy and good mood for the whole day".

"Now I can not imagine my normal day without your radio. My whole family also listens to your radio," she adds.
