The famous Paris Ritz hotel closes today for a two-year €140 million  face-lift.
Owned by Egyptian tycoon, Mohamed Al Fayed, it was once the hotel of choice for Charlie Chaplin, Coco Chanel and Ernest Hemingway.
Princess Diana and Al Fayed’s son Dodi also dined at the hotel before their fatal car crash in August 1997.
