The Pat Kenny Show has retained its dominant position as the most popular show on commercial radio in Ireland, according to the latest JNLR radio listenership figures.

The figures show that Pat’s unique blend of news, politics, debate and entertainment is now attracting 237,000 listeners every day.

The figures show that Newstalk is now the second most-listened-to radio station in the country with its daily and weekly reach increasing by over 30,000 compared to this time last year.

The station has also retained its status as the country’s second most-listened-to station and has seen both its daily and weekly reach increase by over 30,000 compared to this time last year.

It comes at a time when more than 3.4 million adults are tuning into Irish radio each week

165,000 listeners tune in daily to Newstalk Breakfast with Ciara Kelly and Shane Coleman to get a head start on the day with up-to-date news, expert analysis and energetic conversation.

Andrea Gilligan’s Lunchtime Live has reached a new record high audience of 139,000 – showing that it continues to be a big hit with listeners across the country.

The unique offering from Moncrieff  has seen its audience grow by by 6,000 (Book on Book) to 112,000.

While Kieran Cuddihy on The Hard Shoulder maintains a strong audience of 150,000 as he brings a mix of news, entertainment and features to ease the commute home.

Newstalk Managing Editor Eric Moylan said today's figures show the "impressive growth achieved by Newstalk in 2024".

"Our strategy of engaging the public in the stories, discussions and conversations that count for them is really paying dividends," he said.

"Be it a general election, a major gig, the latest parenting advice or debating how to improve work/life balance, we’re talking to our audience about the stories that matter to them.

"This set of results gives a great start point to 2025 as we look to continue the growth delivered by our hard-working teams.”

Key listenership figures for weekday shows:

  • Newstalk Breakfast: 165,000 - up 16,000 (year on year)
  • The Pat Kenny Show: 237,000 - up 21,000 (YoY)
  • Lunchtime Live: 139,000 - up 26,000 (YoY)
  • Moncrieff: 112,000 - down 3,000 (YoY)
  • The Hard Shoulder: 150,000 - down 3,000 (YoY)
  • Off The Ball52,000 - up 2,000 (YoY)
