The Irish actor Tom Hickey has died.
President Michael D Higgins has led tributes to the actor, describing him as "one of the greatest actors of his generation".
The actor, who was in his 70s, was well-known for his role as Benjy in the long-running TV drama The Riordans.
More recently, he played Grandad Joe in the hit comedy Moone Boy.

His film appearances include roles in the likes of Breakfast on Pluto, The Butcher Boy and Inside I'm Dancing.
He was a prolific figure in Irish theatre, and was a founding member of the Dublin Focus Theatre.
He worked with some of Ireland's most well-known directors and playwrights over the course of his stage acting career.

In a statement, President Higgins said: “It is with great sadness that Sabina and I learned of the death of Tom Hickey, one of the greatest actors of his generation, giving over six decades to his profession. He leaves an indelible imprint on Irish theatre.
"Among his colleagues in the acting community he was regarded as an artist of total commitment to performance, to his art and to his community.
"He will be so missed. It was a privilege to know him as a friend.”
The Arts Council expressed its 'deep regrets' at Tom Hickey's death, saying his "extraordinary range of work has left a lasting impression on people from several generations".
