Members of the Script saved a woman from a crash after her car spun out of control on the M40 motorway in Buckinghamshire.

According to BBC news, the band were on their way from a gig in London to Manchester when they spotted that the woman had crashed and there was smoke coming out of her car.

Singer Danny O'Donoghue and the rest of the band ran to the woman's rescue and pulled her out of the car.

The woman in question, Hayley Cockman, said she was in a state of shock after she witnessed the crash: "I suddenly saw a group of guys run onto the motorway," she said. "At first I thought it must have been their car and they'd all got out.

"Then I realised who the people were - they were the Script and they had just run out into the middle of the motorway to try and help the woman out of the completely smashed up car."

O'Donoghue told Manchester radio station, Key103: "You're never going to move somebody from an accident but if there's smoke coming from the engine then you want to get them out as quick as possible.

"The girl said she couldn't feel her legs.

"She was so weak, so we helped her to the side of the road, sat her down, put a jacket around her, gave her some drink and waited for the ambulance."

The woman asked for a photo before she was taken away by the ambulance.
