Newstalk reporter Henry McKean has arrived at the Oscars, where it seems most bets are on Cillian Murphy to take home the big prize.
The 96th Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars, will take place in Los Angeles this evening, with ceremony starting at 11pm Irish time.
Henry told The Anton Savage Show the buzz is already setting in.
“There's been lots of parties lots of hot takes on what's gonna happen tonight,” he said.
“Paul Giamatti still could win and beat Cillian Murphy for The Holdovers.
“But the smart money is on Cillian.”
'When people say they've seen the film four, five, six times, that's kind of phenomenal.'

It is not only a big year for the Cork actor, but for Dublin-based film company Element Pictures, who’s latest feature Poor Things received 11 nominations.
Producer Andrew Lowe told Henry the number of nominations the film received is “extraordinary”.
“[Poor Things] is joyful, it's life affirming, and I think it really does resonate with audiences,” he said.
“It's also such a creative film. It's quite so uniquely original, and I think people just enjoy that.”
Mr Lowe said it’s simply “really lucky to be in the room” among the other nominations.
“I think a number of our categories we really deserve to win,” he said. “Whether we do is another thing.
“Only time will tell.”

Fellow Poor Things producer Ed Guiney also said it’s great to have “a big gathering of the clan” with other Irish filmmakers and actors.
“The main agenda is just to celebrate the nominations and the success of the film and what my expectations are dialled down to low,” he said.
“The film is now established as a thing, t's out there and people will remember it for years to come.
“It's had great accolades and great response and that's the most important thing.”
Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer starring Cillian Murphy is the favourite to win with 13 nominations, although every award season always brings surprises.
