The Tánaiste says no decision has yet been made on whether next year's general election will be held well in advance of the 1916 centenary celebrations.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny's mandate runs out in April of next year, which is likely to clash with the 100 year anniversary of the Easter Rising.

Mary Lou McDonald has defended Gerry Adams' controversial comments on Jean McConville's murder.

During an interview with US broadcaster CBS, Deputy Adams said the mother-of-10's death was what 'happens in war'.

Mrs McConville was kidnapped and murdered by the IRA in 1972.

AIB has released a statement after some mortgage holders with the bank did not receive interest relief payments for February.

AIB says the outstanding relief payments will be paid in full, in one payment, as soon as possible.

Around 1,600 accounts were affected.

A severe storm sweeping across Bangladesh has killed at least 24 people and injured dozens more.

Several houses were damaged while trees were uprooted, mostly in the northern part of the country.

It's the first major weather system in the spring storm season.

An 11-year-old boy has died following a collision in county Fermanagh earlier this month.

The crash - between a car and a van - happened on the Lough Shore Road in Enniskillen at around 1pm on Wednesday the 1st of April.
