Dubai has been named as the most overrated holiday spot in the world by Reddit users.
The poll saw users saying the UAE city has "nothing to do and no culture", with others suggesting the city is "a playground without limits for the world's wealthy".
Other destinations that made the list include Myrtle Beach, Disney World, Niagara Falls, Mykonos and Las Vegas.
One Reddit user said Ireland is also on their list.
"I wouldn't say overrated but I went to Ireland and Dublin was a bit disappointing for me," they wrote. "Same with Cork - Galway is beautiful though."
Mark from irishflights.ie told Lunchtime Live he views Italy as the most overrated destination.
"For me it was Pisa - the only thing that I felt was there to see or do was the Leaning Tower," he said.
"It's actually quite small and underwhelming.
"At the time we couldn't go up to the top because of restoration works.
"The only thing I could think about was just people taking mad photos of themselves holding up the tower.
"The only thing that I'd recommend to people is maybe fly in there and hop on a train to go to Florence or Cinque Terre.
"Pisa itself you could skip entirely".
'Australia was so bland'
Travel writer Melanie May said her no-go destination is Australia.
"I only went from Melbourne up to Newcastle, which is just north of Sydney and it was in 2007," she said.
"I just was really underwhelmed; I wasn't really stimulated at all.
"I was trying to think back about my time there, and the fact that I can't really remember much about it would just go to show how little of an impression it left on me.
"There wasn't really much to do if you weren't into the beach culture, that's what I felt.
"It was just such a regular, western culture saturation - there was nothing new, nothing different, there was nothing really unique about it.
"Australia was just so bland for me," she added.
'It was crazy busy'
Irish Independent Audience Editor Ellen Fitzpatrick said her over-rated destination is "controversial".
"It's Rome - it's not that there isn't anything to do there... but it's just packed full of tourists," she said.
"I went down to the Amalfi Coast and then back up to Rome so it was drastically different.
"Even in non-rush hour it was still crazy busy all the time.
There's a lot of rules when it comes to the Vatican City; it was the end of July and I was there in the dead heat and they wouldn't let me go in because there was a slight bit of my shoulder coming out.
"I would eventually [go back], but maybe just to see Ireland playing Italy in a rugby match but that might be the extent of the trip," she added.
