Gardaí investigating a serious assault on a man in Limerick yesterday have arrested a third person.
A juvenile male was arrested this evening and he's being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Roxboro Road Garda station.
Three people are now in Garda custody in relation to this investigation.
A man in his twenties and a woman in her late teens were arrested, after a man was attacked with a hammer on Edward Street in Limerick yesterday afternoon.
The injured man remains in a serious condition at University College Hospital Cork.
Investigating Gardaí are appealing for witnesses - and in particular to anybody in the vicinity of Edward St between 3p.m. and 3.30p.m. on Tuesday afternoon - to contact them.
They are also appealing for information on any sightings of a light green coloured saloon car with a partial registration number 10 KY in the area of Edward St. around the time of the incident.
