A third garda has appeared in court charged with offences arising from an investigation into alleged corruption within a Dublin-based Garda unit.
Garda Colum Ryan, who lives in County Meath, is facing charges of false imprisonment, burglary and perverting the course of justice.
Garda Ryan is the third member of the force to appear before the courts on the back of the investigation, led by the Garda Anti-Corruption Unit.
He’s facing multiple charges, including the false imprisonment of a woman at an address in Dublin 8 in September 2021 and burglary at another location on Mountjoy Square North on the same date.
The 35-year-old, who is also facing three charges of perverting the course of justice, left court on bail today ahead of his next appearance in May.
Aside from the three members of the force, a civilian and former Dublin City Councillor Stephen Wrenn is also facing charges arising from this investigation.
