LIVE: Parade to mark 99th anniversary of 1916 Rising

A military parade to mark the 99th anniversary of the Easter Rising is underway in Dublin

It is the centerpiece of a series of national events to mark the 99th anniversary of the Easter Rising.

Thousands of worshippers have gathered in St Peter's Square in Rome where Pope Francis has celebrated Easter mass.

He will shortly deliver his traditional "Urbi et Orbi" message to the world's 1.2 billion Catholics from the balcony of St Peter's Basilica.

The former bosses of Irish Nationwide have been hit with a multi-million euro bill for their part in the banking crisis.

The four directors will hand over between €15m and €20m to settle an action taken against them after the building society's collapse at a cost of more than €5bn.
