Thousands of people are expected to attend vigils over the coming days to honour the memory of two men, Aidan Moffitt 41, and Michael Snee 58, found murdered earlier this week in Sligo.
One man, Yousef Palani, has been charged with the murders.
“My personal estimate is that there will be thousands of people,” Oisín O' Reilly from LGBT resource centre Outhouse told Newstalk.
“As a result of COVID, Pride hasn’t happened in two years and I suppose, tragically, this vigil has become the first major moment for the community in Dublin and the community right across the country to come together.
“So I would expect there will be a significant turnout.”
