/> In Melbourne, thousands of people have marched down the street where Irishwoman Jill Meagher was last seen alive.
The marchers say they’ve come joined in grief – and to protest against growing violence in the community.
Many carried flowers, photos of the 29-year-old Drogheda woman and placards with slogans urging peace and harmony as they walked from Moreland Road to Brunswick Road.
The 29-year-old had gone missing on her way home from a work night out in the suburb of Brunswick this day last week.
41-year-old Adrian Ernest Bayley has been charged with her rape and murder – he’s due before court again in January.
