Half a kilo of liquid cocaine worth around €35,000 has been seized in Dublin.
The find was as a result of an operation between customs officers at Dublin airport and gardai.
The drugs, which were discovered in a house in Drumcondra, originated in Brazil and had been concealed in a shipment of aromatherapy oils.
Three men, who are non-Irish nationals, have been arrested.
Investigations are on-going and files are being prepared for the DPP.
What is liquid cocaine?
Concentrating cocaine from coca leaves involves dissolving it in a solvent such as ether. The leaves are removed, leaving behind a substance known as liquid cocaine. It can then be evaporated until it gets concentrated and made into regular water-based cocaine (or coke), or converted to crack for smoking.
Liquid cocaine can be infused into just about anything.
