Three men have been arrested in Co. Louth as part of an operation targeting the activity of dissident republicans.

The men were detained yesterday evening in the Carrickarnon area of Dundalk.

The three range in age from early 20s to mid-50s. They are being held at Dundalk Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act.

The arrests were made in a cross-border operation with the PSNI.
