Three people have been arrested after an armed raid on a Dublin petrol station.
At 9 o'clock this evening, two men wearing balaclavas and armed with a knife and a handgun entered the filling station on the Clonsilla Road and threatened staff before stealing a quantity of cash.
They were intercepted by Gardaí as they left the station.
The two men, one in his late teens and the other in his twenties, and a woman in her late 40s, who is alleged to have been driving their car, were arrested. They're being held at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.
Local Councillor David McGuinness says the area has seen an upsurge in robberies in recent months and news of the arrests will be welcomed by locals.
