Gardaí are continuing to question three men after heroin worth around €1m was seized in Dublin and Meath yesterday.
Around 7kg of the drug was found after an international operation involving agencies in Ireland and the UK.
Three men aged in their 40s and 50s were arrested and brought to Dublin Garda Stations.
Detective Chief Superintendent Angela Willis from the Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau said the “substantial” seizure will have a significant impact on organised crime gangs in the international drugs trade.
Assistant Commissioner John O'Driscoll said working with international partners helps the force in the fight against organised crime.
