Three people have died on our roads over the bank holiday weekend, according to Gardaí.
There have also been 140 detections of drivers suspected of being under the influence of an intoxicant.
On Saturday there were 483 incidents of speeding detected by safety cameras and on Sunday there were 137.
These detections have come from GoSafe vans alone, according to Gardaí, who say the figure “will be higher” when added to detections made by Garda personnel themselves.
An Garda Síochána began its Easter bank holiday enforcement operation at 7am on Thursday, 28th of March, and it will end at 7am on Tuesday, 2nd of April.
