Dublin City Council is to close three of its Motor Tax offices for a week to allow time to process a significant backlog.
The offices at Smithfield, Ballymun and Clondalkin will not open next week to allow time to process 'non use declarations', motor tax and driving licence applications.
The Council says this is as a result of legislative changes in the application process introduced from September.
It is also reminding people that applications for learner permits, driving licences and driver licence renewals can no longer be made through the Motor Tax offices.
Dublin City Council has apologised for the inconvenience. In the meantime, it says customers can continue to pay online at www.motortax.ie or by post to the three closed offices.
