Three former Anglo officials have been sent forward for trial charged with revenue offences. The alleged offences took place while they were working in the former bank over a decade ago.

Tiernan O'Mahoney, of Glen Pines, Old Long Hill Road, Enniskerry in Co. Wicklow is the former Head of Treasury for the bank.

He was the first to be arrested in connection with this investigation by the garda fraud squad.

His former colleague - Bernard Daly from Collins Avenue West in Whitehall, was arrested a week after Mr. O'Mahoney was brought before the courts.

And just over a fortnight ago, another former official - Aoife Maguire of Rothe Abbey, South Circular Road, Kilmainham - was charged.

They are facing a variety of offences under the Taxes Consolidation Act and the Companies Act which allegedly took place on dates between 2003 and 2004.

Today the trio were handed books of evidence during a District Court appearance and told their cases will be dealt with by a higher court.

The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has directed trial by judge and jury and all three have been remanded on bail to appear before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court next month.

The court has already heard that these cases are not factually connected to the ongoing trial of three former executives of the defunct bank.
