We know: you're probably still playing Bloodborne - whether that's digging into New Game plus (or the Chalice dungeons) or still fighting your way through the early stages of the game. And it's quite likely you haven't made much of a dent in a time-consuming RPG likes Pillars of Eternity since this time last week.

Still, the release schedule waits for no player, and there's already new games worthy of your attention. We've highlighted three below:

Axiom Verge (PS4. Coming soon on PC and Vita)

Only a few weeks after Ori and the Blind Forest, and another Metroidvania is already asking you to explore a sprawling map for secrets, unlockables and just a general sense of map-filling satisfaction. This one is more resolutely old school than Ori, and in terms of art and gameplay pays more explicit homage to Super Metroid, the game that originally perfected this whole exploration-platforming-action-thing. The game is reportedly less combat-focused than some of its contemporaries, so you can judge accordingly.

Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Already bored with Bloodborne, or an Xbox One / PC player looking on enviously at PS4 owners? Well last year's Dark Souls II makes its next-gen debut with plenty of bells and whistles. The game has proven divisive, but while very few have argued that it's a better game than its incredible predecessor (or indeed its recent spiritual successor Bloodborne), few would deny it's a challenging, complex and very often brilliant game in its own right, and one that's easy to lose dozens of hours to.

The new version comes with all the DLC, new enemy placements and shortcuts (in case you thought you already knew the game backwards), and obviously a graphical makeover. PC owners be aware that the upgrade options are a little... complicated depending on what you already own, and whether you want the pretty new DirectX 11 version. Full details here.

Last Voyage (iOS)

A quick glance at the above trailer should indicate whether this game is for you or not. This abstract, sci-fi inspired mobile title is the sort of experimental experience that proves the App Store is full of much more interesting titles than puzzle games with cheeky business models. At 99c, this certainly is worth a punt (or euro, as the case may be).
