The QS World University Rankings has released its updated list for European universities – with Trinity College Dublin coming in at number 31 of the 688 universities in the continent.
The QS World University Rankings: Europe 2024 is the first-ever ranking focused exclusively on European universities.
The QS Survey ranked Trinity College at 81st in the world earlier this year – saying the college is "Ireland’s leading university".
"The pursuit of excellence through research, scholarship and teaching is at the heart of a Trinity education," the organisation said.
University College Dublin was next on the list for Ireland, ranking 71st – with a World University Ranking of 171st.
The University of Galway ranked 98th in Europe, having ranked 289th internationally.
Overall, the University of Oxford topped the list, closely followed by ETH Zurich.
Seven of the top 10 universities in Europe are based in the UK.
The poll was based on a number of factors including global recognition, research and employment outcomes.
