Three men have been arrested as part of an investigation into protests outside the Taoiseach’s home.

Gardaí said the men, aged in their 30s and 40s, were arrested as part of ongoing investigations into the alleged harassment of an elected official.

They are being held at Garda stations in Wicklow.

Two protests have been held outside the Taoiseach Simon Harris’ home in recent weeks.

Last Friday night, a small number of masked individuals waving Irish flags gathered outside his home calling for closed borders, mass deportations, and the clearing of tents.

At the time, Gardaí said they engaged with the protesters and instructed them to immediately leave the area, which they did.

The Taoiseach was en-route to Switzerland at the time, where he was taking part in a two-day summit aimed at finding a possible path to peace between Russia and Ukraine.

A similar protest in early May saw protesters carrying placards reading 'South Dublin Says No' and 'Close the Borders' gathering outside the Taoiseach’s home.

At the time, Gardaí said the protesters gathered for less than ten minutes before leaving the area.

A Garda spokesperson said two of the men arrested this morning are being interviewed about an incident last week, while one is being questioned about an incident in May.
