Three young men have been jailed for raping a teenage girl on Dollymount Strand in Dublin.
Several people, who came to court in support of the men, had to be removed from the public gallery for shouting and protesting against the sentences handed down.
After driving her to Bull Island in Dollymount on January 5th, 2016, the three young Dublin men took turns raping the then-18-year-old girl.
They denied it but they were all convicted following a retrial.
Dion Genockey (24) of Clarion Quay apartments, Troy Ryan (24) of Lower Gardiner Street and Daryl Rooney (25) of Railway Street, took turns raping her before she was told to get into a second car where two other men raped her before leaving her on the beach.
They were jailed for nine, nine and a half and ten years respectively.
The two others were not before the court.
When the sentences were handed down, their supporters started screaming “they’re innocent” and “miscarriage of justice” before being removed from the courtroom.
The woman, who listened in through a live link, previously told the court she hoped the men would pay for the “pain, trauma and loss” they cost her on that night.
