A man has been arrested after three people were stabbed in County Galway yesterday evening.

Gardaí said three men in their 20s received stab wounds during an altercation in the Brackernagh area of Ballinasloe at around 7pm.

They were taken to Portiuncula Hospital for treatment.

Two are still being treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the hospital.

One man, aged in his 20s, has been arrested and is being held at Ballinasloe Garda Station.

Gardai said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation; however, they are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have any information to contact them.
