Three teens have been taken to hospital after a suspected assault and stabbing incident in Cork yesterday evening.
Gardaí said a teenage girl and two teenage boys were injured in the incident in the Brooklodge Square area of Glanmire.
Investigators rushed to the scene at around 9pm amid reports the teens were assaulted by another group of young people.
There are reports a blade and a blunt object were used in the incident.
Local councillor Ger Keohane is appealing to witnesses to come forward:
“Anybody that has information should contact local Gardaí in Glanmire,” he said.
“We don’t know what caused the incident but we’re asking for calm here.
“This is totally unnecessary this level of violence.”
Gardaí said the injuries sustained by the teens were not life-threatening.
