Search continues for Paris attackers
Police in France have today been searching an area of dense woodland northeast of Paris for suspected attackers of the offices of Charlie Hebdo, brothers Said Kouachi and Cherif Kouachi.
The killing of a policewoman early on Thursday is now also being treated as an act of terrorism.
Reaction to the attacks continued today, with people across the world observing a minute’s silence at noon Paris time. Tomorrow will see yet more reflection on the attacks and the expanding debate on free speech, censorship and the right to offend and object to offence.
Mother and Baby Homes terms of reference
The Terms of Reference for the inquiry into Mother and Baby Homes are being published this morning.
The Commission of Investigation, chaired by Ms Justice Yvonne Murphy, is expected to examine the homes from the foundation of the State until the late 1980's.
It was set up last May after the discovery of a septic tank thought to contained the bodies of around 800 babies born in the Tuam Mother and Baby Home.
Funerals of victims of Athy road crash
The funerals of two of the young women killed in a road crash near Athy on Tuesday night will take place tomorrow.
Four women were killed, all friends travelling in the same car on their way back to college at NUI Maynooth.
Chermaine Carroll and Gemma Nolan, both from Carlow, will be laid to rest later.
