Same-sex marriage referendum

The group representing Ireland's students says holding the marriage equality referendum a month early will not unfairly influence the outcome.

The USI says most college-goers will be too busy with exams by the fist month of the summer and has suggested the 24th of April as a possible date.

AirAsia search operation

Bad weather has continued to hamper efforts to locate and investigate the wreckage of AirAsia flight QZ8501. The search operation will continue as soon as conditions allow, with divers set to investigate an area where a large object is said to have been spotted.

A total of nine bodies have now been recovered.

Cobh couple to be buried together

The Cobh couple who died in tragic circumstances last weekend will be buried together, although will have separate funerals.

It is understood that Michael Greaney stabbed his wife and 21-year old daughter Michelle before he took his own life.

The couple's eldest daughter is recovering in hospital and is hoping to attend the funerals of both of her parents, along with her younger sister.

The funeral of Valerie Greaney will take place tomorrow morning, and Michael's funeral mass will be hold on Saturday.
