Graham Dwyer trial begins
The trial of a 42 year old architect accused of murdering Dublin childcare worker Elaine O'Hara is due to begin this morning.
Graham Dwyer with an address at Kerrymount Close, Foxrock is to appear before the Central Criminal Court.
The jury was sworn in one Monday, with the judge warning jurors the trial may not suit some people who were ‘squeamish’.
Teacher strike
27,000 secondary teachers are due to walk off the job on Thursday in a row over Junior Cert reform.
The one day strike is going ahead despite an 11th hour appeal by the Taoiseach yesterday, who told unions the compromise on the table is reasonable and should be accepted.
The ASTI and TUI are unhappy with plans to make them assess 40 per cent of the work of their own students.
Thursday’s industrial action follows a similar work stoppage in December and there could be at least one more strike in the weeks ahead.
