Ireland’s foreign policy
A review of Ireland’s foreign policy is being launched tomorrow.
It will consider how the Government safeguards Ireland's peace, security and economic prosperity.
The Taoiseach Enda Kenny and the Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan will publish the review at a conference in Dublin Castle tomorrow morning.
The issue of foreign policy ad security has become more prominent in the public discussion in the last week following the attacks in Pairs, and claims that there are Muslim extremists living in Ireland.
Limerick murder case
A 41 year old woman - charged with the murder of a father of three in Limerick - is to appear before Limerick District Court on Tuesday morning.
Patrick Redmond - who was originally from Dublin - was found with stab wounds at an apartment in the Mount Kennett area of the city on November 10th 2013. He died in hospital shortly afterwards.
Mary Lynch of Basement Apartment, Upper Cecil Street in the city appeared before Limerick District Court yesterday charged with the 65 year old's murder.
The court heard she replied 'Not Guilty' when she was charged.
She was granted free legal aid and remanded in custody to appear before the court again tomorrow.
Bailey case resumes
Ian Bailey's High Court action against the Garda authorities and the State resumes on Tuesday after a three week hiatus.
The former journalist is suing for damages for alleged wrongful arrest over the 1996 murder of French film producer Sophie Toscan du Plantier in Co Cork.
The jury will convene tomorrow morning for the first time since the Christmas break.
Back in November they were told the case would be over before the new year but it now looks set to run into February.
