The forecaster said there is a risk of heavy and thundery downpours nationwide with the potential for some hail.
Clear spells should develop later tonight as the showers become lighter and more isolated.
Tomorrow is set to start dry; however, showers will then spread from west Munster across the country turning heavy and thundery again in the afternoon with a risk of hail and spot flooding.
Met Éireann said a Low-Pressure system will dominate the weather throughout the week, with ongoing thundery showers and the odd sunny spell at times.
The unsettled weather is likely to continue right up to the weekend.
