Today

Cold with frost, fog and ice patches clearing this morning. Dry and bright at first in midland and some eastern areas, but patchy drizzle near the northeast coast clearing. Windy with rain developing in the west and southwest this morning, will spread eastwards later.

Highest afternoon temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees Celsius and feeling cold in the fresh and gusty south to southeast wind strong in western areas.

Tonight

Wet tonight with spells of heavy rain and some localised flooding, especially in parts of Munster. Becoming drier along western coasts later in the night. Mist and fog in places also.

Lowest temperatures ranging from 3 or 4 in parts of the west to 6 to 8 degrees Celsius in the east and winds inland will drop off light.

Rainfall warning (status yellow) for for Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford

30 to 50mm of rainfall Thursday into Friday. Some high totals will lead to spot flooding. Valid from 11am today until 11am Friday.
