Scattered showers will become more frequent in the west early this morning. Cloud will thicken everywhere as those showers merge to persistent rain, and extend eastwards to all areas through the rest of the morning.
Temperatures will reach 10 or 11 degrees today and southwest winds will be fresh to strong and from the southwest.

It will become increasingly windy through the evening and early night with near gale force winds over land, and damaging gusts and storm force winds along the north coast later in the night.
There will be further scattered outbreaks of rain, turning persistent and heavy again in the west Friday morning.
