A tiger released into the wild in south India has been shot dead after he killed a pregnant woman. The body of the 23-year-old woman was found on Wednesday.
It is believed that the woman was the tiger's second victim.
The animal was released in Bhimgad wildlife sanctuary, Karnataka, on 19 November by forest officials despite warnings it had lost its fear of humans.
The sanctuary is located close to the village where the woman is from, according to India Today.
It is believed that the tiger had a radio collar in order that he could be tracked but the sanctuary was experiencing technical difficulties.
Four days after the woman was killed, the tiger was shot dead by one of the teams.
