The Tánaiste and Foreign Affairs Minster Eamon Gilmore is in Turkey today on a trade visit and to discuss the crisis in Syria with other world leaders, including US Secretary of State John Kerry.

The Middle East peace process will also be on the agenda, as well as plans to bolster the Turkish-Israeli rapprochement, which was brokered two weeks ago by Washington.

Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore will be in the country for four days, during which time he will visit a Syrian refugee camp and meet with the Turkish President.

A delegation from Enterprise Ireland will join the Tanaiste as he attempts to boost trade between Ireland and Turkey, which was worth more than €1bn to our economy last year.
