Joan Burton says she is disappointed there are not more women in ministerial positions.

The Labour leader says she is happy Labour is doing its bit to promote women - but wishes Fine Gael was following suit.

She was speaking after the reshuffle of junior ministers yesterday which saw Fine Gael give all nine of its jobs to men.

Several backbenchers have lashed out at Fine Gael for not appointing more women.

All nine of Fine Gael junior ministers are male, while two of six junior ministers from Labour are female.

The Tánaiste says she would like there to be more women in power. But she says Fine Gael ministers are a matter for Enda Kenny and nobody else.
