Today is officially the hottest day ever recorded in Dublin, the Irish Observational Climatology has confirmed.
The temperature in Phoenix Park has now provisionally reached 33°C - beating the previous record set in July 2006 when the temperature in Dublin hit 31.0°C.
It is also Ireland’s second hottest on record - bested only by a sweltering day back in 1887 when the mercury in Kilkenny hit 33.5°C.
Nationwide, it is Ireland’s second hottest on record and a yellow warning is in place across the country.
