Today is the deadline for people filing their Property Tax return by paper. However returns postmarked today will be accepted. Revenue says returns have already been filed in respect of over 300,000 properties.
It is appealing for everyone who has not filed yet to do so swiftly in order to put the arrangements in place for those who want to spread their payments out across 2014.
Revenue had extended the paper filing deadline for the tax by one week, having originally being due this day last week.
Under the original timeline, people who filed their 2013 return on paper only had until last Thursday to tell Revenue how they intended to pay next year's tax. The online deadline remains November 27th.
Meanwhile some 5,000 calls per day are being made to a special Revenue Commissioner phoneline dealing with property tax queries.
Although extra staff have been deployed to answer calls, Revenue says wait times for the helpline are around 15 minutes. That rises to 17 minutes if the query needs to be transferred to a Revenue official.
The helpline - 1890-200-255 - is open from 8am until 8pm today.
