A cloudy, wet start to many areas today, with further heavy falls of rain. The rain will spread southwards during the day and will start to ease off later in the afternoon. It will be a cool, fresh day and temperatures will struggle only ranging from 7 to 9 degrees in the northern half of the country in light winds, but slightly milder further south with highs of 10 to 13 degrees where it will be windy this morning.
Tonight
Some light rain and drizzle will affect parts of the country tonight, but there will be long dry spells too. Lowest temperatures will range from 1 to 3 degrees for part of Ulster and Connacht while elsewhere it will be a little milder with lows of 3 to 7 degrees in moderate southerly winds.
