Frost and ice, together with any fog patches, will clear this morning. Showers will become confined to western coasts and many areas will have sunny spells. However, rain developing in Munster and Connacht by late afternoon will spread countrywide soon after dark. Light to moderate, west to southwest winds will back southerly and increase strong to gale force this evening. Cold but temperatures will rise to between 8 and 11 degrees Celsius later.

Rain clearing to showers early tonight but showers will become heavy and prolonged later in western counties. Winds veering southwesterly overnight will remain strong to gale force in many areas. Lowest temperatures 3 to 6 degrees Celsius and too windy for frost.
