A young boy is said to be in a critical condition in hospital after being kicked in the head by a horse in Co. Tipperary. 

The two-year-old was airlifted to the Mid West Regional Hospital in Limerick following the incident in the Rosemount Estate in Thurles yesterday evening.

He was treated by ambulance personnel at the scene before the Coast Guard helicopter transferred him to hospital.
