Convicted paedophile Tom Humphries has been released from prison, 22-and-a-half months into his two-and-a-half year sentence.
The former sports journalist was jailed in October 2017.
He was sentenced after he pleaded guilty to grooming and sexually abusing a young girl at his Dublin home.
The 56-year-old had been grooming the girl for two years, sending her thousands of sexually explicit messages.
Judge Karen O’Connor said she had a headline sentence of four years in mind but had reduced it based on his guilty pleas as well as his loss of reputation and livelihood.
She said the young woman had lost most of her childhood and her innocence as a result of Humphries' actions.
Humphries walked free from the Midlands Prison this morning.
