It comes seven years after the singer dramatically scrapped five nights at the stadium amid a dispute over licensing issues.
On his return to Ireland during the week, Brooks said the 2014 Croke Park saga was “like a death in the family for us.”
“This is the greatest place to play music and the fact that it is Croke Park makes it even better,” he said.
“If there was any way we could have put the 400,000 tickets in Croke Park to The Point we would have. It is a guaranteed good time to play here.”
He said playing in Ireland is “the greatest privilege and the greatest joy an artist can have.”
“It is the greatest heartache to be told you can’t,” he said. “So, this has been a rollercoaster ride for me.”
Hotel prices in Dublin have shot up on the weekend of the concerts and Dublin’s Deputy Lord Mayor has urged Brooks to call out hotels for ‘price gouging’ during his run of concerts.
