A protest has taken place outside Government Buildings to object to the HSE’s plans to cut over 20 million of euro from services for the elderly and the disabled.

/> The protest – organised by people with disabilities, their personal assistants and their families – say the decision to reduce services from people will prevent them from living independently in their own homes.
They’re vowing to escalate the protests – and say the Junior Minister with responsibility for the disabled should support them.
A new Minister for Nothern Ireland has been appointed today after British Prime Minister David Cameron reshuffled his ailing coalition government.

The Commission for Energy Regulation has approved an 8.5% hike to residential gas prices.

It says the increase will add over €70 to residential gas bills annually.
