Fergal O’Brien reports:

The European Commission says it “regrets” the leaking of a draft document on Ireland’s progress in implementing the bailout deal.
/>

Some residents are believed to be trapped after a flood wall was breached.

Rick Knabb is the director of the U.S. National Hurricane Center.

/> The aunt of a man with autism is suing the gardai claiming that they falsely imprisoned and assaulted her nephew in Co Donegal.
/>

/> The High Court has heard that the 27 year old was arrested in September two years ago for allegedly chasing two girls with a stick.

Newstalk’s Courts Correspondent Francesca Comyn reports:

/> The opening ceremony for the London Paralympic Games is just hours away.
/>

/> Professor Stephen Hawking will guide the show – which is called “The Enlightenment” and Road and track cyclist Cathal Miller will be Team Ireland’s flag bearer.

Organisers are encouraging plenty of audience participation – at home and in the stadium – including a synchronised ‘apple crunch’.
