Tory MP Nigel Evans has denied allegations of rape and sexual assault.
The Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons was questioned by police about alleged attacks on two men in their 20s.
The 55-year-old has since been released on bail and made a statement to journalists this morning, denying the allegations and expressing his "sense of incredulity at these events".
He went on to say: "The complaints are completely false and I cannot understand why they have been made."
He also thanked the public for their support on his facebook page.
