Toyota Ireland is recalling 36,000 cars here because of a problem with the power switch in the driver’s window.

The voluntary recall applies to around 9,000 Yaris cars, 10,000Auris, 14,000 Corolla and 2,000 Rav 4s.

The cars all have registration plates from between 2006 and 2008.

Toyota Ireland will be writing to all owners involved in the recall to arrange to have their cars checked by their local dealer for free.

Back in August the car-maker also recalled 600,000 vehicles across Europe due to a technical fault.

This related to over 10,000 vehicles on the Irish market.
