Dublin City Council has released details of traffic restrictions for the capital during the Tall Ships Festival.
The festival starts today and will run until Sunday, the 26th of August.
The following roads will be closed on the dates and times stated below:
- The Samuel Beckett Bridge, Guild Street and Cardiff Lane will be closed from 08.00hrs to 24.00hrs  today, tomorrow, and Saturday 25th August and from 08.00hrs to 20.00hrs on Sunday 26th August 2012.
- The East Link Bridge will operate at a reduced rate for the duration of the event, with bridge lifts in operation to facilitate entry of Tall Ships, from today till Sunday 26th August to facilitate egress of Tall Ships.
- South Dock Road from 10.00hrs today till to 20.00hrs on Sunday 26th August, 2012.
The following roads will remain closed from 07.00hrs until to 22.00hrs on Sunday 26th August, 2012.

- North Wall Quay
- Commons Street (from Custom House Quay to Mayor Street Lower)
- Guild Street (from North Wall Quay to Mayor Street Lower)
- New Wapping Street (from North Wall Quay to Mayor Street Upper)
- Castleforbes Road (from North Wall Quay to Mayor Street Upper)
- City Quay
- Sir John Rogersons Quay
- Prince’s Street South
- Gloucester Street South
- Lombard Street East (from City Quay to Townsend Street)
- Creighton Street (from City Quay to Hanover Street East)
- Windmill Lane
- Lime Street (from Sir John Rogersons Quay to Hanover Street East)
- Cardiff Lane (from Sir John Rogersons Quay to Misery Hill)
- Misery Hill
- Forbes Street
- Hanover Quay
- Benson Street
- Green Street East
- Britain Quay

- South city traffic wishing to cross the Liffey at Samuel Beckett Bridge will be diverted via Pearse Street, Tara Street and Butt Bridge.
- North city traffic wishing to cross the Liffey at Samuel Beckett Bridge will be diverted via Amiens Street, Memorial Road and Talbot Memorial Bridge.
- Pedestrian access will be maintained.
- Closures will also operate on Lime St, Cardiff Lane, Misery Hill, Laser Lane, Hibernian Rd, Forbes St, Horse Fair, Blood Stoney Rd, Hanover Quay, Benson St, Asgard Rd, Green St East and Britain Quay.
Public Transport information:
- From 10:30am each morning until Sunday Luas Red Line services will not stop at Connolly Station. However, a full service will operate along the rest of the line. Luas will provide additional services over the course of the weekend.
- Irish Rail services are expected to be very busy so additional capacity will be provided on DART and commuter services. Services from M3 Parkway will operate to Docklands Station from 10:10am until 6:10pm and services to M3 Parkway will operate from Docklands Station from 11:20am until 7:20pm.
