The mother of the baby boy found dead in Kerry at the weekend has issued a statement, through a family friend.
Anna Rozycka, who found her 11-month-old son, has thanked the public for their support.
She alerted emergency services to the scene she returned to at her apartment in Killarney on Sunday.
Paramedics were unable to save baby Karol's life.
The baby's father, who was found with serious injuries in the apartment, is being treated at Cork University Hospital.
Baby Karol's body was released back to his family yesterday.
The family are raising money for the cost of the funeral, which will be held in Poland.
This is Damian, a friend of Anna Rozycka, who gave the statement to Radio Kerry.
